EUGENIIA GUL

Hi, could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

My name is Eugeniia Gul, and I am a Ukrainian-born American commercial model, presenter, creative director, and actress. I live and work in Los Angeles. Was recently published in the VOGUE magazine, USA (Jan 2022). I was on the cover of GMARO magazine in July. It’s my honour to have my second cover of the year with you, HP magazine!

Let’s start by telling us about your business.

I have twenty years of modelling experience (I'm 29) and 2 years of acting, with a wide variety of clientele and campaigns in Europe and the USA. In addition, I also empower women to discover their true selves through my 12-step self-discovery program “BLOOM and GROW.” I’ve helped hundreds of aspiring women since 2018 through the program by providing guidance and workshops that deal with depression and PTSD. In fact, my past struggles were a precursor to why I created the program. My road to self-discovery and growth was bumpy, but it led me to create a 12-Step Program for women for self-discovery that’s published in the GUL Planner. I’m proud to say now that my own pain caused growth in other human beings.

When did you consider yourself a success?

For the first time truly and on a deep level when I was 21. I left Ukraine because I've been in very toxic and abusive relationships. I was running away, escaped, and did it for my own safety and well-being. I chose myself, I chose a happy life with no fear and self-destruction. Since that day, I’ve considered myself a success. I didn't have financial or emotional support from my single parent (my mom), my exes or from anyone else. I made money on my own, and I planned my run from the country where I was born. Since then, I knew I didn’t need men to make me happy or a magic stick to change my life for the better. I have me, I do me, I rely on myself, and think this is wonderful. This is my true success.

How have you become a content creator?

I became a content creator when I came to LA in 2018. I always thought that for altering the world you have to be a politician, that's why I obtained my Master's in Politics. But it took me a lot of effort to reverse my mindset to realize in 2016-2019 that social media has the power to make lasting change.

Coming to LA, I've noticed the tendency for people to connect on Instagram. I was missing out for the first year living in a country of opportunities with no IG account, and then I changed my belief that social media is a perfect tool to tell people about your personal brand and to share your message with the broader audience. It's like time. It's all about what you do with your time because we are all given the same time, the same as we are all given the same opportunities in the form of social media. I see that it’s best to do as much as possible with your time.

How do you measure the content’s success?

If people benefit from it - then you achieved content success. It has to be informative, educative, or entertaining. If you found your niche - you are a success, if you didn't find it yet - don't worry! You will eventually if you are proactive and manage your time wisely.

How do you react when content bombs?

I try not to overact, it's bad for my mental health.

What impact of social media in your life as a content creator?

I've met incredibly talented people like Karina Grigoryants, the founder of @floraleventprodcution, and Von Vemian, the founder of @maison.de.von. Together, we’ve created lots of beautiful projects like the Christmas photoshoot you see in the magazine. Karina created beautiful floral arrangements for the shoot and Christmas gift boxes that you can find on her page for yourself or for the people you love.

Vemian is well-known for the Von Vonni infinity dresses, which Von Sargsian, the Founder of Vemian, first produced in 1999. All of his gowns are handmade in Los Angeles and every dress is a unique piece of art.

You feel as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside wearing Vemian dresses, and I think that you can tell it from the photos you see in the magazine, where I wear Vemian dresses.

What would be your advice for aspiring and emerging women entrepreneurs?

Work for the lifestyle you promised yourself as a little girl. All the doubts and "what if" aside. Risking is better than regretting, girl!

What has been the biggest roadblock during your journey? What has been your biggest learning?

As I've mentioned above, probably an aspiration to break into politics instead of focusing on my psychological well-being and putting my mental health first. Also, the realization that Prince who's gonna come and save you is only in the Disney movies. Be your own Princess, be your own QUEEN.

Believe me, knowing who you are and giving back to others is better than being a needy chick waiting for her savior.

Embark on a meaningful journey of growth and self-reflection if you aspire to inspire.

Finally, what do you think is the most important trait for a leader and why?

A good leader is one who leads by example. Practice what you preach and people will follow you enthusiastically.
