SUJATA BAJRACHARYA

Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

I moved to the United States 15 years ago from Nepal. I completed my undergrad and master's degrees in Minnesota and I have been working in tech. A few years ago, I decided to pursue my passion for music, fashion and art. I am a singer, model, coach and businesswoman.

Tell us about your journey so far.

I am enjoying this journey a lot. When we do what we love to do, the journey is beautiful. It's just like a drive with a scenic view. You enjoy the journey. I love creating. I am creating my songs and I am creating my business. This is my passion. I am also creating something special for the world which I will be publishing soon. My mission is to share happiness and help people become their best versions.

How will you handle your popularity?

I believe no matter how successful we become, it is important to be humble. My essence will never change nor my zest for life. Fame and success are the outcome of the hard work we put in. We must always remember where we came from and be grounded.

What are your greatest accomplishments so far?

I feel accomplished every day if I achieve all my goals for the day. I am grateful for the small accomplishments. However, if I have to pick one, my greatest accomplishment is moving from Minneapolis to LA to pursue my passion for music and business. I launched my art and fashion business earlier this year and I have been creating my songs.

What is the best and worst part of being a model/singer?

Singing and modelling are something that I am really passionate about. I feel the best doing that. The worst part is that this industry has certain criteria like height, weight and all. I believe not all models have to be a certain height or weight.

On your project Rush, how did you come up with the concept?

The song is an outcome of an ecstatic moment that I experienced with music. I combined that with my imagination and Rush was created.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I am very responsible and I have very high standards. I do what I say, no sugarcoating. My greatest challenge is when people don't meet my expectations. Also, when people judge me for what I do instead of who I am. I am a businesswoman, entertainer and coach. And I want people to see me for who I am as a whole person, not just an aspect of what I do.

What’s your fantasy collaboration?

I love Riri, Lana Del Rey, Justin Bieber. I'd love to sing with them. Bollywood music has my heart, I grew up listening to AR Rehman and there's magic in Atif Aslam's voice that makes me smile every time I listen to his songs. I'd love to collaborate with them someday.
